...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN GRANT COUNTY

THROUGH 400 PM PDT...



At 324 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

Mount Vernon, or 10 miles southwest of John Day, moving northeast at

45 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

John Day, Prairie City, Canyon City, Mount Vernon, Seneca, and Izee.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
