...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN JEFFERSON...

SOUTHERN COCKE AND NORTHEASTERN SEVIER COUNTIES THROUGH 730 PM EDT...



At 640 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

Newport, moving east at 25 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Newport, Smoky Mountains-Big Creek, Chestnut Hill, Round Mountain,

Cosby, Hartford, Max Patch, and Waterville.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
