...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CHEROKEE AND EAST

CENTRAL POLK COUNTIES THROUGH 1030 PM EDT...



At 948 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8

miles north of Ducktown, moving east at 20 mph.



HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Turtletown and Violet.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for

southwestern North Carolina...and east Tennessee.
