...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN SULLIVAN...

NORTHEASTERN HAWKINS...NORTHWESTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTHEASTERN

HANCOCK COUNTIES THROUGH 915 PM EDT...



At 826 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

Surgoinsville, or 9 miles north of Rogersville, moving east at 35

mph.



HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Gray, Spurgeon, Surgoinsville, Bays Mountain Park, Sullivan Gardens,

Fall Branch, Warriors Path State Park, Okolona, Church Hill, and

Kingsport.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement

agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service

office in Morristown.



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for

east Tennessee.
