...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN PERRY AND CENTRAL

DALLAS COUNTIES THROUGH 345 PM CDT...



At 300 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

Marion Junction, or 7 miles east of Uniontown, moving east at 35 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects.



Locations impacted include...

Selma, Valley Grande, Uniontown, Selmont-West Selmont, Orrville,

Bogue Chitto, Vaiden, Old Cahaba Park, Memorial Stadium, Marion

Junction, Dallas County Horse Arena, Potter Station, Skyharbor

Airport, Perry County Correctional Center, Summerfield, Hazen, Craig

Field Aiport, Selma Drag Strip, Suttle, and Edmund Pettus Bridge.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for south central

and central Alabama.
