...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT WESTERN HIGHLANDS COUNTY THROUGH

600 PM EDT...



At 533 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along

a line extending from 9 miles northeast of Sebring Regional Airport

to 7 miles south of Lake Placid. These storms were nearly stationary.



HAZARD...Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects.



Locations impacted include...

Sebring, Lake Placid, Sebring Regional Airport, Sylvan Shores, Lake

Istokpoga, Lake Josephine, Archbold, Placid Lakes, Lorida, Avon Park

Air Force Range, and Sebring Shores.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead

to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.
