CENTRAL COLUMBUS...NORTH CENTRAL FLORENCE...SOUTHERN DILLON...EAST

CENTRAL DARLINGTON...NORTHWESTERN HORRY...NORTHERN MARION AND

SOUTHERN MARLBORO COUNTIES THROUGH 500 AM EDT...



At 354 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

Blue Brick, or 11 miles northeast of Florence, moving east at 35 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts 40 to 50 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Marion, Mullins, Latta, Fair Bluff, Lake View, Sellers, Fork, Blue

Brick, Zion, Mars Bluff, Cherry Grove, Oak Grove, Gapway, Francis

Marion University, Barnesville, Floydale, Smithboro, Kemper,

Claussen, and Green Sea.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading

killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to

be struck by lightning.
