...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northern Edgefield,

southwestern Saluda and northeastern McCormick Counties through 115

AM EDT...



At 1242 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10

miles east of Mccormick County Airport, or 18 miles south of

Greenwood, moving east at 20 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Edgefield, Johnston, Saluda County Airport, Strom Thurmond High

School, Cleora, Good Hope, Pleasant Lane, and Northside Fire Station

Main.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.



This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
