...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN CLINTON...SOUTHEASTERN

FRANKLIN...NORTHERN ESSEX...NORTHWESTERN ADDISON...SOUTHERN GRAND

ISLE AND SOUTHWESTERN CHITTENDEN COUNTIES THROUGH 100 PM EDT...



At 1155 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

St Armand, moving east at 35 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Keeseville, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Burlington, South Burlington,

Franklin, Jay, Willsboro, Black Brook, Chesterfield, AuSable,

Wilmington, North Elba, Kingsland Bay State Park, Essex, Lewis, St

Armand, Shelburne, Charlotte, and Peru.



This includes Interstate 87 between mile markers 120 and 143.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

stations and available television stations for additional information

and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.



If on or near Lake Champlain, get out of the water and move indoors 

or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles 

from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close 

enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not 

be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
