...EXTREME COLD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH 

MONDAY MORNING...



* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below possible.



* WHERE...Northwest Pocahontas and Southeast Randolph Counties.



* WHEN...From late Saturday night through Monday morning.



* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero 

  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. 

  Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is 

  exposed to these temperatures. The extended period of 

  significantly below freezing temperatures could also cause 

  ruptured water pipes.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest of wind chills are expected 

  Sunday afternoon through Sunday night, especially across the 

  higher mountain ridges.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must 

go outside.



To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to 

drip slowly.
