The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a



* Dust Advisory for...

  Maricopa County in south central Arizona...



* Until 645 PM MST.



* At 610 PM MST, a wall of dust was along a line extending from

  Camelback Mountain to Tempe to near Gilbert City Hall, moving

  southwest at 20 mph.



  HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility with strong wind in excess 

           of 40 mph.



  SOURCE...Public.



  IMPACT...Hazardous travel.



* Impacts to Loop-101 and 202



Locations impacted include...

Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Tempe, Paradise Valley,

East Mesa, Tempe Marketplace, Papago Park, Falcon Field Airport, Salt

River Indian Community, Arizona State Fairgrounds, Freestone Park,

and Downtown Scottsdale.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Blowing dust can be unhealthy and has been known to lead to Valley

Fever. Avoid outdoor exposure.



Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving

conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in

dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep

your foot off the brake.
