...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM MDT

FOR NORTHEASTERN DAWES COUNTY...



At 657 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Slim Butte, or

13 miles north of Chadron, moving southeast at 20 mph.



HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.



SOURCE...Mesonet station in South Dakota near the Nebraska border 

         reported a 77 mph wind gust with this storm.



IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 

         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 

         considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 

         mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.



Locations impacted include...

Chadron and Dawes County Fairgrounds.
