...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM CDT

FOR EASTERN MARION...NORTHWESTERN FORREST AND LAMAR COUNTIES...



At 1142 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles west of

Pine Ridge, or 11 miles northwest of Purvis, moving east at 40 mph.



HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to 

         roofs, siding, and trees.



This severe storm will be near...

  Hattiesburg, Oak Grove, and Pine Ridge around 1145 PM CDT.

  West Hattiesburg around 1150 PM CDT.

  Petal and Rawls Springs around 1200 AM CDT.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for south central

and southeastern Mississippi.



Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly

from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the

basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.



For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a

building.
