...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT

FOR CENTRAL CONCORDIA...SOUTHWESTERN CATAHOULA PARISHES IN

NORTHEASTERN LOUISIANA AND SOUTHWESTERN ADAMS COUNTIES...



At 525 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Lake Ophelia

National Wildlife Refuge, or 11 miles northeast of Effie, moving east

at 40 mph.



HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to 

         roofs, siding, and trees.



This severe storm will be near...

  Larto, New Era, Acme, and Mayna around 530 PM CDT.

  Monterey around 540 PM CDT.

  Deer Park around 550 PM CDT.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northeastern

Louisiana...and southwestern Mississippi.



Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly

from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the

basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.



For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a

building.
