The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a



* Snow Squall Warning for...

  Northeastern Wayne County in western New York...

  Cayuga County in central New York...

  Oswego County in central New York...



* Until 645 PM EST.



* At 547 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line

  extending from 7 miles north of Nine Mile Point to 7 miles west of

  Cato, moving east at 20 mph.



  HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to 

           blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts 

           up to 20 mph.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous 

           within minutes.



This includes Interstate 81 between exits 32 and 37.

 

Locations impacted include...

Oswego, Fulton, Fair Haven Beach State Park, Sandy Island Beach State

Park, Pulaski, Central Square, Cato, Selkirk Shores State Park,

Mexico Point State Park, and Nine Mile Point.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Reduce speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the

visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions.
