...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM SATURDAY TO 7 AM EST 

MONDAY...



* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 8 

  to 12 inches in the most persistent lake snows.



* WHERE...Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie Counties. The 

  greatest accumulations will focus across the higher terrain of the 

  Chautauqua Ridge and Boston Hills, while remaining well south of 

  the Buffalo Southtowns.



* WHEN...From 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM EST Monday.



* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult with snow covered roads 

  and poor visibility.

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST 

SUNDAY...



* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected in two separate rounds. The 

  first round will produce an additional 3 to 6 inches through this 

  evening, with the greatest amounts across northern Oswego County. 

  The second round will produce 8 to 14 inches late Saturday through 

  Sunday in the most persistent bands. Snowfall rates may reach 2 to 

  3 inches per hour in the most intense portion of the band Saturday 

  night through Sunday.



* WHERE...Oswego County.



* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Sunday. The first round of lake effect snow 

  will last through this evening. There will then be a break of 

  minimal snowfall late tonight through much of Saturday before a 

  second round of heavy lake effect snow arrives late Saturday 

  afternoon and continues through Sunday.



* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult with deep snow cover on 

  roads and very poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will 

  impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

  eastern Wayne and northern Cayuga counties.
