.A kona storm is expected to bring heavy snow and strong winds to 

the summits through this evening.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS 

EVENING...



* WHAT...Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations up to 10 inches 

  possible. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph. Light snow may 

  linger tonight into Monday.



* WHERE...Big Island Summits.



* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening.



* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing 

  snow will significantly reduce visibility at times, with periods 

  of zero visibility.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, and 

ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This 

will make travel very hazardous or impossible. Any travel plans to 

the summits should be postponed until the threat diminishes.
