* Until 715 PM EDT.

          

* At 614 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near South Amboy,

  moving east at 35 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots and large hail.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high 

           winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in suddenly 

           higher waves.



* The severe thunderstorm will be near...

  Lower New York Harbor and The Verrazano Narrows Bridge around 635 

  PM EDT.

  Rockaway Inlet around 650 PM EDT.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.

Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, large hail, high waves, lightning,

and heavy rain are expected with this storm. If caught on the open

water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal

objects.
