...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT NOW IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM CHST FRIDAY

THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON...



* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet, increasing to 10 to 14

  feet Friday night. Minor coastal inundation expected.



* WHERE...North and east facing reefs and shorelines of Yap.



* WHEN...From 6 AM Friday to 5 PM ChST Saturday.



* IMPACTS...Some water on low lying roads and property. Dangerous

  swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tropical Storm Hagupit (05W) is currently

  forecast to move through or just south of Yap Proper Friday night.

  Building northeast to east swell is expected to produce hazardous

  surf along north and east facing reefs Friday morning through at

  least Saturday afternoon. Minor coastal inundation and localized

  beach erosion is expected along northern and eastern shorelines by

  Friday afternoon.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to

dangerous surf conditions.
