For the High Rip Current Risk, through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Elevated trade swell is being reinforced by a surge in trade winds due to the pressure gradient between Tropical Storm Hagupit 05W to the south and a high-pressure system to the north. These feature combined are producing up to 12 foot surf along east facing reefs and 10 foot surf along north facing reefs. The high surf advisory may be extend in the afternoon package. The high risk of rip currents is expected through Sunday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current.
