Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Although the northerly swell remains, the northeasterly swell that assisted in the development of the hazardous surf along north facing reefs has shifted to the east. This has allowed surf to fall below hazardous levels along north facing reefs. A high risk for rip currents is expected to linger for east facing through Tuesday afternoon as easterly swell remains elevated. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. && $$ Williams
