The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Southern Stephens Passage...

  Frederick Sound...



* Until 200 PM AKDT.



* At 1259 PM AKDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Cape

  Fanshaw, moving north at 25 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots over the water.



  SOURCE...Satellite imagery indicated.



  IMPACT...Small craft could be capsized in suddenly higher winds and

           higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Hobart Bay, Cape Fanshaw, Five Finger Light and Tracy Arm Entrance.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.



Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.

Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, high waves, dangerous lightning, and

heavy rain are possible with this storm.
