...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in 

Washington...



  Wenatchee River at Peshastin affecting Chelan County.



.Rains have ended however snowmelt continues to runoff into the 

river. The river continues to run in Major flood levels and is 

expected to lower to moderate flood stage Friday afternoon. The 

river will continue to slowly recede.



For the Wenatchee River...including Peshastin...Major flooding is 

occurring.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you 

come upon flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE TOMORROW MORNING...



* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring.  The river is expected to 

  lower to moderate flood stage Friday afternoon and minor flood 

  stage Friday evening.



* WHERE...Wenatchee River at Peshastin.



* WHEN...Until late Friday morning.



* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Major flooding is likely throughout the 

  valley between Leavenworth and Wenatchee.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 9:15 AM PST Friday the stage was 15.1 feet.

  - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

    ending at 9:15 AM PST Friday was 17.1 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

    early Saturday morning and continue falling to 8.7 feet

    Friday, December 15.

  - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

    15.0 feet on 11/07/2006.
