...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT /6 AM MDT/ THIS 

MORNING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.



* WHERE...A portion of southwest Texas, including the following 

  counties, Culberson and Jeff Davis.



* WHEN...Until 700 AM CDT /600 AM MDT/.



* IMPACTS...Numerous roads may remain closed due to flooding. 

  Low-water crossings are possibly still inundated with water and 

  may not be passable.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 515 AM CDT /415 AM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated

    thunderstorms have ended, but residual flooding may persist

    across the warned area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Kent, Fort Davis, McDonald Observatory, Bloys Camp, Davis

    Mountains State Park, Black Mountain, Buffalo Trail Scout

    Camp, Indian Lodge, Fort Davis National Historical Site and

    Star Mountain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 

potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 

roads. Find an alternate route.



Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where 

you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become 

killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or 

creeks.
