...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...



* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 

  rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of northwest Texas, including the following 

  county, Lubbock.



* WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1052 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges

    indicated areas of moderate to heavy rain. This will cause

    urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches

    of rain have fallen over the past 3 hours.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of a quarter inch to 1 inch are

    expected over the area. This additional rain will result in

    minor flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Lubbock, Abernathy, Wolfforth, Shallowater, Idalou, Ransom

    Canyon, Downtown Lubbock, Lubbock International Airport,

    Texas Tech University, Lubbock South Plains Mall, Woodrow,

    Reese Center, Slide, New Deal and Buffalo Springs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
