...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM EDT THIS EVENING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Georgia, including 

  the following counties, in south central Georgia, Tift, Turner and 

  Worth. In southwest Georgia, Dougherty.



* WHEN...Until 1115 PM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 911 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin

    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 2.5 inches of

    rain have fallen.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Sylvester, Albany, Poulan, Ty Ty, Marine Corps Logistics

    Base, Terrell, Sumner, Isabella, Shingler, Gammage, Sylvester

    Airport, Red Rock, Coverdale, Acree, Hillsdale and Pecan

    City.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
