...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT THIS EVENING...



* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 

  rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of southeast North Carolina, including the 

  following counties, Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender.



* WHEN...Until 930 PM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Overflowing poor drainage areas. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 542 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges

    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause

    urban and small stream flooding. Up to 2.5 inches of rain

    have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over

    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Wilmington, Leland, Hampstead, University Of North Carolina

    At Wilmington, Murrayville, Windemere, Mayfaire, Landfall,

    Ogden, Bayshore, Porters Neck and Scotts Hill.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
