...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 PM EDT THIS EVENING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following 

  counties, Chatham and Effingham and southeast South Carolina, 

  including the following county, Jasper.



* WHEN...Until 915 PM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 712 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin

    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain

    have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected

    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor

    flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Pooler, Savannah International Airport, Hutchinson Island,

    Downtown Savannah, Godley Station, Hunter Army Airfield,

    Midtown Savannah, Garden City, Port Wentworth and

    Bloomingdale.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
