...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of eastern New York, including the following 

  county, Ulster.



* WHEN...Until 245 PM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

  Rises in small streams.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1146 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges

    indicated heavy rain. Ponding of water or minor flooding is

    expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and

    1.5 inches of rain have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected

    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor

    flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Poughkeepsie, Kingston, New Paltz, Ellenville, Wallkill,

    Milton, Plattekill, Hurley, Woodstock, Highland, Olivebridge,

    Kerhonkson, West Shokan, High Falls, Napanoch, Kenneth L

    Wilson Campground, Mount Tremper, Woodland Valley Campground,

    Tillson and West Hurley.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
