...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM EDT THIS 

AFTERNOON FOR NORTHWESTERN GLOUCESTER, EASTERN DELAWARE, SOUTH 

CENTRAL MONTGOMERY AND WESTERN PHILADELPHIA COUNTIES...



At 306 PM EDT, gauge reports and radar indicated that up to 2 inches 

of rainfall has fallen across portions of the warned area. There 

have also been reports of street flooding in south Philadelphia. The 

area of rain responsible for the flash flooding has moved out of the 

area but additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible 

in the warned area as additional rainfall is approaching from the 

south and west. Flash flooding is already occurring.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.



SOURCE...Gauges reported.



IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other

         drainage and low lying areas.



Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...

  Philadelphia, Gloucester City, Chester, Deptford, West Deptford, 

  Yeadon, Woodbury, Conshohocken, Folcroft, Swarthmore, Paulsboro 

  and Westville.



This includes the following highways...

	Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 12 and 25.

	Interstate 476 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 15.

	New Jersey Turnpike near exit 2.

	Interstate 76 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 332 and 350.

	Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 4 and 18.

	Interstate 676 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 1.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most 

flood deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
