The Flood Watch is cancelled for portions of northwest and west 

central Washington, including the following areas, in northwest 

Washington, Clallam, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, 

San Juan, Skagit and Whatcom. In west central Washington, King, 

Lewis, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston.



The Flood Watch has been replaced with multiple Flood Warnings.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE POTENTIAL FAILURE OF THE LEVEES AND 

DIKES OF THE SKAGIT RIVER BELOW SEDRO-WOOLEY TO THE MOUTH OF THE 

SKAGIT RIVER REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE FRIDAY NIGHT...



* WHAT...Flash Flooding caused by a potential dam or levee failure 

  continues to be possible for the levees and dikes of the Skagit 

  River below Sedro-Wooley to the mouth of the Skagit River.



* WHERE...A portion of northwest Washington, including the following 

  area, Lowlands of Western Skagit and Northwestern Snohomish 

  Counties.



* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.



* IMPACTS...Dike and levee failure may result in flash flooding. 

  Extensive flooding of streets, homes, and farmland will be 

  possible.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - This flash flood threat is in addition to the major flooding

    on the Skagit River.

    - Water pressure associated with major flood levels on the

    Skagit River poses a risk of dike or levee failure. Failure

    would result in flash flooding.

    - The exact locations of flooding would depend on the

    location and magnitude of the failure. The threat area

    includes locations from Burlington and Mount Vernon into

    Padilla Bay and Skagit Bay.
