...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM EDT THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS 

EVENING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.



* WHERE...A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following 

  areas, Chesapeake, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, Newport News, 

  Norfolk/Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.



* WHEN...From 10 AM EDT this morning through this evening.



* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, 

  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. 

  Flash flooding is most likely to occur in poor drainage and urban 

  areas.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - Widespread showers and thunderstorms along a slow moving cold

    front are expected later today. Total rainfall amounts are

    expected to average between 1 and 2 inches, but locally

    higher amounts are likely.
