The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...

  Southeastern Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...



* Until 430 AM MDT.



* At 214 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy 

  rain moving slowly northwest across the warned area. Up to 1 inch 

  of rain has fallen in the past 45 minutes in southern Rio Rancho. 

  Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.75 inches are possible in the 

  warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 

  shortly, especially in the Calabacillas Arroyo and Montoyas Arroyo.



  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated.



  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban

           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as

           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.



* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Northern Albuquerque, southern Rio Rancho, Corrales, Northern 

  Meadows, Cabezon, Rio Rancho Intel Area, Vista Hills and Paradise 

  Hills.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
