The National Weather Service in Miami has extended the



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  Southeastern Palm Beach County in southeastern Florida...



* Until 1215 AM EDT.



* At 1005 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms 

  producing heavy rain and Significant flooding has been reported on 

  Federal Highway in Boca Raton. Between 5 and 7 inches of rain have 

  fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible 

  in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.



  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms

           producing flash flooding.



  SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.



  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Lighthouse Point, Highland Beach, 

  Hillsboro Beach, Boca Del Mar and Fau South Campus.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
