...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.



* WHERE...A portion of east central Florida, including the following 

  county, Brevard.



* WHEN...Until 700 AM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads 

  remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all 

  the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems 

  in urban areas.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 150 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the

    warned area. Flooding flooding impacts will continue over the

    next several hours. Between 10 and 15 inches of rain have

    fallen.

  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is

    expected.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Titusville, Rockledge, Cocoa, Cape Canaveral, Titusville

    Airport, Port Saint John, Sharpes, Mims, Merritt Island,

    Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge, Bellwood and Lagrange.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become 

unstable and unsafe.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
