...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM HST THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE 

ISLAND OF LANAI IN MAUI COUNTY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.



* WHERE...The island of Lanai in Maui County.



* WHEN...Until 1215 PM HST.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 

  streams.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 913 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over over the

    island of Lanai. Rain was falling at a rate of up to 1 inch

    per hour on saturated ground, which will produce rapid

    runoff.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Lanai City, Manele and Lanai Airport.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 

to flooding.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1215 PM HST if flooding 

persists.
