...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE 

ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.



* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.



* WHEN...Until 830 PM HST.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 

  streams.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 520 PM HST, radar indicated heavy showers and

    thunderstorms moving over Honolulu from the southwest, with

    rain falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Expect

    heavy showers and thunderstorms to quickly pass over the

    southeast half of Oahu into early evening.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Honolulu, Manoa, Maunawili, Palolo, Kaneohe, Kalihi,

    Waimanalo, Kailua, Moanalua, Ahuimanu, Kaneohe Marine Base,

    Salt Lake, Hawaii Kai, Kahaluu, Halawa, Aiea, Nuuanu, Makiki-

    Tantalus, Makiki and Moiliili.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 

to flooding.
