.Multiple fronts associated with an atmospheric river are currently 

moving over the southern panhandle, including Ketchikan. Efficient 

rainfall with unseasonably warm temperatures and snow levels has 

lead to localized flooding near the Ward Lake area. As the front 

departs this afternoon, water levels may briefly dip below minor 

flood stage; however, the next frontal passage moving in tonight is 

expected to bring sufficient rainfall to bring conditions back into 

minor flood.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM AKST WEDNESDAY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...Ward Lake near areas near the Ward Lake recreational area.



* WHEN...Until 300 PM AKST Wednesday.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 859 AM AKST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain across the

    advisory area. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly,

    especially near Ward Lake. Between 1.25 and 1.75 inches of

    rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3.5

    inches are possible.



  - For Lake Connell Dam:

    At 8:00am the stage was 251.8 feet.

    Flood Stage is 252.0 feet.
