The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a



* Tornado Warning for...

  Southwestern Tompkins County in central New York...



* Until 215 PM EDT.



* At 145 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado

  was located over Mecklenburg, or 8 miles west of Ithaca, moving

  southeast at 40 mph.



  HAZARD...Tornado and half dollar size hail.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.



  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 

           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 

           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 

           damage is likely.



* This dangerous storm will be near...

  Ithaca, Newfield, and Enfield around 150 PM EDT.

  Danby around 200 PM EDT.

  South Danby around 205 PM EDT.
