            The Sandpiper wildfire began in Natrona 

            County, approximately 8.6 mi NE of Casper, 

            WY. Around 6:50 p.m. MDT the fire was 

            reported by the Natrona County Emergency 

            Management to have entered Converse County, 

            WY. Glenrock FD was dispatched to help with 

            containment. Measurements at the nearby 

            Douglas, WY weather station had wind gusts 

            to 38 mph with RH values at 8 percent. At 11 

            A.M. MDT the fire was reported to be 100 

            percent contained by the Natrona County Fire 

            District. The fire remained over open 

            grasslands, reaching 0.6 miles west of CR22. 

            The total area burned by the fire is 6,287 

            acres with approximately 2,700 of those 

            acres in Converse County.
