            A short-lived microburst or possible brief 

            waterspout nudged over the sand flats about 

            200 yards southeast of the US Coast Guard 

            station, which ripped apart a small building 

            housing a generator near the aerostat 

            dirigible located there. An instantaneous 

            20-foot wind gust of 47 mph was reported at 

            that site, which was less than 100 feet from 

            the damaged structure. A wind gust of 33.82 

            knots (38.9 mph) was recorded at the nearby 

            Brazos Santiago platform, 0.5 miles to the 

            east.
