Please broadcast the message at approximately 60-minute intervals 

starting on Wednesday, February 4, through Saturday, February 7, 

2026. The National Marine Fisheries Service announces the closure 

for the commercial harvest of Spanish mackerel in the Atlantic 

southern zone. The commercial closure begins in federal waters on 

February 7, 2026 and continues through February 28, 2026. The 

southern zone for Spanish mackerel is located in federal waters off 

South Carolina through the east coast of Florida. During the com 

mercial closure, Spanish mackerel from the southern zone cannot be 

purchased or sold. For more information, call the National Marine
