At 747 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms were located 8 nm southeast of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, or 26 nm south of Grand Isle, moving northeast at 20 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in injury and damage to boats...vessels and oil rigs. A cluster of severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
