A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

Lake Michigan nearshore and open waters to mid lake from Port

Washington WI to Winthrop Harbor IL...



At 820 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were

located along a line extending from 27 nm east of Port Washington to

19 nm east of North Pt. Lt. to near Whitefish Bay, moving south at 30

knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until these storms pass.
