A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...



  Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor...

  Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor out to Mid

Lake...



At 857 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm induced gust 

front, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This gust 

front was located along a line extending from 6 nm northeast of Wind 

Pt. to near Oak Creek to 7 nm southwest of South Milwaukee, moving 

south at 20 knots.



The gust front will be near...

  Winthrop Harbor around 945 PM CDT.

  Waukegan Harbor around 1005 PM CDT.



Expect an abrupt wind shift to northerly with gusts up to around 30 

kt as well as locally choppier waves. 



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots and locally 

higher waves. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until 

these storms pass.
