...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE OFFSHORE WATERS EAST OF 

GEORGETOWN...



The areas affected include...

  Waters from Little River Inlet SC to South Santee River SC from 20 

  to 60 NM...



At 1233 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm 

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was 

located near Goldfinch Reef, moving northeast at 25 knots.



The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher 

waves, and lightning strikes. If caught on the open water, prepare 

for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are 

wearing properly fitted life jackets.



This storm may produce a waterspout. A Special Marine Warning may be

needed.
