  Long Island Sound...

  Peconic and Gardiners Bays...

  Long Island South Shore Bays...



At 1024 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms, capable of 

producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located 

along a line extending from near Huntington Bay to near Shinnecock 

Inlet, moving northeast at 30 knots.

Great Peconic Bay, Herod Point, 

Huntington Bay, Port Jefferson Harbor, Shinnecock Bay, Shinnecock 

Inlet, and Smithtown Bay around   1030 AM EDT.

  Little Peconic Bay and Norwalk Islands around 1035 AM EDT.

  Mattituck Inlet and Stratford Shoal around 1040 AM EDT.

  Shelter Island Sound and Penfield Reef around 1045 AM EDT.

  Dering Harbor, Horton Point, Mouth of the Housatonic River, and 

  Shelter Island around 1050 AM EDT.

  Central Long Island Sound and Gardiners Bay around 1055 AM EDT.

  Orient Point, Falkner Island, and Six Mile Reef around 1100 AM 

  EDT.

  Plum Island, New Haven Harbor, The Thimbles, and Long Sand Shoal 

  around 1105 AM EDT.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect heavy downpours, gusty winds to around 30 knots, 

locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek 

safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
