The areas affected include...



  Moriches Inlet to Montauk Point NY out 20 NM...

  Long Island Sound East of the Mouth of the Connecticut River...



At 358 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were

located along a line extending from near The Race to near Napeague

Bay to 7 nm southwest of Buoy 44017, moving east at 35 knots.

  Stonington, Buoy 44017, Fishers Island, Fishers Island Sound, 

  Montauk Shoal, Western Block Island Sound, and Montauk Point 

  around 405 AM EDT.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until these storms pass.
