height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be

more than twice the significant wave height.



.SYNOPSIS FOR WASHINGTON AND OREGON WATERS...High pressure over

the waters will weaken this afternoon as a cold front approaches

the region. The cold front will move E across the waters later tonight

and Sat, then move inland Sat night into early Sun. A weak low 

may form along the front Sat afternoon crossing the outer 

Washington waters. Another area of low pressure will move E into 

the waters Sun, while stronger will become weaker as it crosses

the waters and moves inland later Sun night into Mon. A 

strengthening pressure gradient will develop across the waters 

later Sun night through Mon night as strong high pressure builds 

to the W. A trough will move SE across the waters Tue and Tue 

night as the strong high pressure remains centered W and SW of 

the region. Astoria NAVTEX is reported down. Technicians are
