The low will clear well E of the area by Tue night. A secondary low will develop near the Southeast coast Tue, then drift N along the coast Tue night through Wed night. Strong counterflow to the Gulf Stream will create the potential for steeper, breaking waves. Then by Thu and Thu night, a broad, stronger low will approach the Mid-Atlantic coast, pulling a strong cold front across the waters. The low will track NE of the area Fri and Fri night, with a series of low pressure troughs or secondary cold fronts moving E across the area. High pressure will build over the S and central areas Sat, then expand NE Sat night. Hurricane Melissa will pass E of the waters Thu into Fri.
